Day 1 of Teen Vogue’s Fashion U was all about the high-style guest speakers, while Day 2 was all about the students!

The students received mini-makeover’s courtesy of Maybelline, but most importantly they received their diplomas:

Teen Vogue also partnered with Maybelline, to not only give out makeover’s but scholarships to 2 lucky girls as well:

So, I must be living under a rock! Just recently, while browsing the usual e-fashion sites that I love, I kept seeing T by Alexander Wang. It’s basically a cheaper, more casual alternative to the high-end line, Alexander Wang. Since I’m more for the simple stuff and really accessorizing it to make the look pop, I was drawn to this line:

Stretch One-Shoulder Dress $95

Low Back Fine Jersey Tank $53.20

Stretch Long Sleeve Dress $90

Classic Mini Pocket Long Dress $110

Athletic Thermal Onesie $118

“Do I, to you, look like a lame/who don’t understand a broad with a mean shoe game.. “

Alexander McQueen kicked off his Spring/Summer 2010 collection in the meanest way possible! As crazy, outrageous and cool McQueen’s designs usually are, this collection definitely takes the cake. The only designer I can think off where every collection trumps the last, because in actuality, he is his biggest competition. Coming in at a staggering 10 inches, these futuristic, animal printed, crystal embellished shoes understandably fly’s over the head of even the boldest fashionista!

Either Alexander McQueen is a prophetic visionary of style, or he has a severe case of ADD that doesn’t allow him to be intensely structured or cohesive. Whichever way, his designs never fail to disappoint or leave stones unturned.

Fabulous Finds: Forever 21
So many times, I scour the world of e-fashion and come up with mostly high-end, top quality clothing to feature on this here site. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fabulous finds for less! The economic climate has changed the way people think and shop, pushing even the most posh designers to team up with budget friendly retailers such as H&M and Target to bring their fashion to the less affluent. Sucks that it takes an economic crisis to bring these fabulous changes about, but hey, I ain’t complainin’! This new feature that I’m debuting “Fabulous Finds” will feature either lower budget retailers or cheaper alternative designer lines. First up, Forever 21:

I have found some fabulous little nick-nacks at Forever 21, which is my favorite budget friendly store, for all my fabulous readers of FM:

[In Order] 1. Sequin Ruffle Dress $49, 2. Zip Front Tulip Dress $29, 3. Side Swept Rose Dress $22.80, 4. Belted Paint Stroke Dress $24.80

I remember the stylist I used to intern with, Trina Patterson, told me about this event and told me I should sign up for it and go, but by then it was too late! Well, FashionU finally went down in NYC yesterday and they kicked of Day 1 with the who’s who of fashion and beauty:

Fab designer, Kimora Lee Simmons, was one of the speakers there

Reem Acra was also a speaker. Don’t you just love her designs?

Handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff was there as well, as we here at FM are always featuring her sample sales!

Thakoon, a Michelle Obama favorite, also spoke at the event

Oh how we love Derek Lam here at FM!

Richard Chai was a speaker as well.

TOMS Founder and Chief Shoemaker, Blake Mycoskie, was a speaker

(From L to R) LaROK Director of PR Erin Caruth Mugavero, LaROK Sales rep Kimmy Star Picone and LaROK Showroom Manager and Sales Assistant Cammy Lynn Herbert, were there to offer their fab words of wisdom!

Philip Crangi was also there to speak

Serena Giovi of my favorite beauty brand, Maybelline, came and held down the beauty segment.

President of Estee Lauder, Thia Breen, was also there representing the beauty industry

While one-shoulder dresses have been around for a while, and honestly isn’t going anywhere, it seemed to have picked up momentum this season. This trend may seem like more of a spring thing, but just remember– Fall is just a gloomier version of Spring. Same cool, crisp weather. Also, you won’t be outdoors the whole time anyway! So for those of you who are planning on going to functions that require you look like the Diva you are, may I recommend the one-shoulder dress?

Little Red Lipstick
Fall Trend: Red Lips

AAAHHHH, little black dress. You know the one that we keep in our closet in case of “CODE RED” (Definition – Emergency Outfit) LOL. You’re sitting at home watching your favorite T.V. shows when, your girlfriends decide to call and beg you go to this new hot spot in town (*sigh* been there, done that LOL). So of course, you pull out that little black dress. It’s sexy, never goes out of style, and you know you just can’t go wrong. Well, just like that little black dress, your little red lipstick should be on standby! It’s timeless just like that little black dress.

Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Dandridge rocked it out in the 1950’s and now you see celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie wearing it in the present. And for my Black Beauties, that’s afraid to put some color on those lips, YES *pointing* YOU! Have no fear, Teen Vogue is here! LOL. This month’s issue has African-American supermodels, Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn, on the cover rocking their red lips, looking absolutely fabulous. So, if they can do it, SO CAN YOU!!!
